Groene Os Magnesium Citrate is important because it helps signal transduction in the nerve cells, production of enzymes and hormones, as well as in the metabolic process. Magnesium Citrate prevents the accumulation of calcium and is important for horses that undergo intensive exercise.

A magnesium deficiency is not common. If you are supplementing magnesium just to be sure, it is important that you keep other minerals in mind, as they can quickly become unbalanced. An overdose is not very likely, because magnesium is excreted through the urine. However, if you do supply too much magnesium and phosphorus, then there is a chance that the horse may get bladder stones.

Advice

Check the horse's current food supply to measure the approximate magnesium intake before supplementing magnesium. Alternatively, you can also test the horse's urine.

Muscle Stiffness

Magnesium Citrate is also used after physical exertion, (morning) stiffness and periods of anxiety. Magnesium Citrate can also be used together with calcium citrate to effectively treat osteoporosis.

Unless prescribed otherwise: 1 to 2 times daily, 1 scoop with food (1 scoop contains 5 grams of Magnesium citrate, of which 1 gram is elemental magnesium)
